The original DOS version is available locally, but you can also get a new Windows port from the zsnes.com homepage. - Added slow-down key. ePSXe - a rather good Playstation emulator for Windows. With this release and this all in one installer, this turns out to be a good PlayStation emulator which runs rather well (even with newgames like Driver 2). Well worh the download. - A completly re-written MDEC engine, which should give you better quality and some more FPS during video playback. - More accurate timing, which makes the videos have less pause. (MDEC timing should always be turned ON now) - Included two new internal CD-Rom plugins : One for WinNT/Win2k users, which uses WinNT/Win2k's native functions, and an ASPI CD-Rom plugin for Win9x and Win2k users, which is usually faster than the older plugins. - Fixes to XA sound playback in the internal SPU plugin. - Included NTSC/PAL auto detection for a more accurate timing, mainly in Square videos. - The ISOs are loaded directly now, without showing the BIOS logo. - Added support for PSX mouse emulation. (qbert) - Included a new memory card selector, which comes with support for the most important memory card formats (.MCR, .MEM, .MCD, .GME) - Memory cards are now saved when you go to the main window and when you quit the emu incorrectly. It's still highly recommended that you close the emu using the File -> Exit option ;-) - Added an experimental "Change discs" option. To switch a disc, you need to go to File -> Change disc. (this isn't working with some games yet though) - ePSXe should work better with Lewpy's plugins now, so no more crashes when you exit the emu. The reset/continue functions should also work now on several videoboards. - Fixes to the CD-Rom decoder and the core, which make some more games playable like for example Final Fantasy 9, Grandia, Fear Effect, Tenchu 2 and so on ;-) - Added a snapshot maker in key F8. (you need the "snap" directory). - Since we haven't been able to fix the Chrono Cross bug yet, we added a workaround, which can be activated using the F3 key while the game freezes at that point (though this doesn't fix the status screen problem yet, you must still use the cheat code for this)

Though I'm sure it will be worthwhile downloading.
Just as the page was going along as per normal (after the Sony problems), it seems the people at Amiga.com have nothing better todo with their time but hassle us emulation peeps. Their letter is was wrongly sent to UKOnline's abuse - but the files in question are not placed there - very clever... I have had no choice but to remove the files for now, well will see how things go. Release of this Atari 800 emulator for DOS are always quite far between, this is the last update since May and looks like it was worth the wait: - possibility to set color saturation - sound.c got -help - bug causing vesa modes not to be detected correctly fixed. - sound_dos.c compiler warnings fixed - ui.c - reading of root dirs corrected - pokey.c - better reading of saved pokey state - statesav.c - strict version check and version increased to 3 - binload.c - C flag and boot flag are set now (some programs need it) - joystick autofire emulation (dos and svgalib only). - gtia.c fix - pm_scanline was too short when HSCROL was used. 'mountain king' game suffered from this bug. - atari_x11.c - small fix for keyrepeat (fvwm2, switching back to the screen 2 FocusIn requests are generated). - DOS SoundBlaster driver updated. - vga_asm.s patched to quell a compiler warning. - sio.c - new routine to rotate disks and slight parameter change in SIO_Mount that allows a disk to be opened read only even if it is a read/write image. - sndsave.[ch] (new module) - writes out .WAV files of arbitrary bitrate. - linux joystick patch - both keyboard emulation and real joystick can be used for multiplayer games now. Not much to say.. - Just for the sake of completeness, I added support for the Japanese version of Power Drift. It's pretty much identical - the only difference are the six program roms (parts 11745-52) which should be placed in a small zip file called pwrdrifj.zip.
A new release of this wonderful emulator from Dave. Now with support for the wonderful Power Drift!! Amazing stuff Dave. - Fixed the difficulty setting of PD to normal. - Added support for the Triple-68000 game Power Drift! - Sound support for Power Drift (the easiest part believe it or not!) - It is very playable on a Pentium 3, but...there are many glitches all over the game.
October starts with a new MAME beta. This looks like a interesting release with support for Bomberman (and the world version). Along with Stun Runner - though I wont be testing that because I don't want to watch a slideshow (very slow). The wonderful and weird world of Raine, another good un-offical release for Raine, this time there has been another release after this one - but with Maniac Square disabled. Video mode 5 is now the default - PAL games are now detected automatically. - Fixed what is hopefully the final Windows compatibility issue.
A new Gameboy emulator (for me at least). This is the Windows 9X DirectX version (the homepage also has a Win32 version). Its very compatable (perfect?) and seems to have no problems with the new Gameboy Colour games (bar a few pallete problems). A very small release of DBoy, seems to have some sort of Sidewinder support or fix. I'm too scared to upload this emulator because the author will just release another version and make it redundant.. ah well, heres whats new: - Changed the scanlines method back so only one blit is done
This falls into the "wow, that was quick" category. Since yesterdays update there has been three small releases of Final Burn. Dave, you sure do work hard. - Fixed the engine sound - it was to do with looping samples. I also increased the accuracy of the PCM emulation - the Vulcan gun now sounds better I think. - Blanked out the incorrect engine sound, to save our poor ears for the time being... - Changed the scanlines method (to avoid vertical banding effects on cards which do bilinear filtering).
Its been a long time since I updated my CPC section (nearly a year), so I have cleaned things up and updated this freeware CPC emulator for DOS (Windows port available at homepage). Two releases of Final Burn in the last few days, it now sports a nice Fullscreen mode and scanline support. Lovely. - Added fullscreen with scanlines option. To use this mode, click on 'Scanlines'. - Added fullscreen option. To exit the fullscreen mode, press Escape.

If you don't have a sound card installed, and previously couldn't play After Burner, this should fix the problem. Changes for v0.010: - Fixed palette in 555 16-bit modes (typo!). If you had incorrect colors in 16-bit modes, this should fix it. - By the way, in 8-bit modes Final Burn will have incorrect colors: you should change your desktop settings to 16-bit or higher. - Added 44100hz and Bass filter options. (which I advise you only use on a high-end Pentium 3). The first Acorn emulator returns, now with Sound support included to rival the good RedSquirrel. - 8 channel sound emulation - Quad MEMC emulation to allow 16MB of ram - Faster floppy access - Improved mouse resolution - PCFS in ROM - LED update control - Plenty more bug fixes...

How pathetic is that? Well all I can say is screw you Sony and your pathetic consoles. I never have owned a PlayStation, and never will. I have been tempted by the PS2 for its DVD capabilities and ability to run copied PS1/2 games. But I refuse to give my money to those arseholes, looks like I will hold on until Nintendo's Gamecube arrives.

Its been a while (last update was September 1999), but we now have a new release of this great Atari 2600 emulator for DOS. This release adds support for Save Mary.
A second release of WinFellow (first addition to my page). The good news is that the Windows version has the speed of the DOS port and from what I have tried seems reasonably compatable. Very nice. BouKiCHi's wonderful emulator finds a new home on Vintagegaming, I hope this is a sign of a strong future and maybe reaching perfection. - Fixed several DMA transfer bugs - Mr. Driller works perfectly A good C64 emulator with a lack of documents togo with it - therefore I'm unsure what has been changed, but its probally worthwhile.
