Steem, A nice Windows based AtariST emulator, looks nice a great update - though how/why it can run without DirectX puzzles me, no matter. Bugs Fixed - v2.06 GraftGold fetch bug (Paradroid 90, Rainbow Islands). - Lots of timings (Bird Mad Girl Show, many fullscreens). - Bit shift bugs (a few protection routines). - More cartridge bugs. - More file association bugs. - Steem no longer needs DirectX to be installed to be able to run. - Lots of disk manager properties bugs. New Features - Brightness/contrast. - Automatic mixed resolution display in any drawing mode. - Slow motion speed. - PC display refresh synchronisation. - Loads of MIDI options. - Special effects for fullscreen. - Joystick setups. - Up to 8 PC joysticks can now be used (DirectInput only) Another outstanding emulator updated, this is 'the' emulator for all Gameboy emulation (even Advance). Runs just about anything you throw at it, great for testing the lastest GBA releases. - correctly initializing IO registers when running without BIOS - support for GSA ROM patching codes and button codes - support for CodeBreakerAdvance codes - support for separate frameskip for GBA and GB roms - reworked the cheat system internal (should improve speed a bit) - added a small interrupt latency to avoid interrupt loop - fixed 16-bit DMA transfers with decrement options - fixed semi-transparent OBJ bug - fixed Gameshark Advance snapshot import - fixed crash when passing filename without a path on command line - fixed ARM LDR/STR with ASR shifted register instructions - fixed some disassembly bugs - fixed sound mixing (reversed sound) - fixed misaligned 16-bit reads - fixed sound mixing (reversed sound) - fixed vertical scrolling bug (Kefren bars demo) - fixed speed up bug changing sound quality during emulation - disable screen saver when emulating - added option to pause the emulator when window not active - added keyboard shortcut for recent files - added support for more keyboard keys when configuring controls - added sound recording to a wave file - fixed Add code dialogs to allow multiple codes entered at once - fixed DDraw clipping bug (should work when window partially offscreen) This emulator rocks, superb MegaDrive emulation for Windows. Along with good SegaCD and 32X emulation makes it a killer app, well worth the tiny download. Sega CD - Bug with memory fixed. - PCM sound fixed (but still a bit buggy sometimes). - SCSI CD/DVD ROM drives are now correctly supported. - Memory mode register fixed. Genesis - Bug in 2 Cells V-Scroll fixed. - Bug with dword 68000 predec EA mode fixed. - DBtr instruction fixed in Starscream 68000 core. - Minor fix in V counter (added in Gens 1.56) - Z80 initial state fixed. - Hilight / Shadow effect fixed. General - Gens manual support added Meka updated, it seems Zoop is chasing the last few games he knows that don't work. Would love to see this emulator marked as 100%, Zoop has worked hard and deserves it! - Rewrote 93c46 EEPROM emulation from stratch, it now works and saves data properly. - Emulated onboard 64 kb RAM chip of Ernie Els Golf (GG). - For the sake of accuracy, started to implement emulation of the four slighty different VDP chipsets used in Master System 1/2, Game Gear and Megadrive (compatibility mode). - Fixed glitches in Ys (Japanese version), using 315-5124 VDP emulation. - Fix bugs Z80 emulation, letting the Game Over screen for Rambo III to appears normally - Fixed VDP refresh disable emulation for Game Gear. - Fixed YM-2413 state restoring when loading a save with FM playing. - Now store YM-2413 state initialization in VGM files. - If available, store Japanese game name (in romanji form) in VGM files. - Fixed shifted instruction offset in debugger. - Updated TECH.TXT with instructions about how to build a DB-9 adapter to connect SMS Joypads on your PC. - Added full French (by Overture 1928) and Swedish (by Henrik Sankala) localisations. Complete Italian localisation (by Andra Ballandino). - Fixed minor display bug in the Inputs configuration tool. MAME rumbles on, a few new games with this release (most of the work seems to be on macros with this release). Always good to see a few odd games in there (Lemmings!). - Gun Force 2 - Angel Kids - Noboranka - Steel Force - Mug Smashers - Captain America - Lemmings - Flyball - Grand Cross Vice, the great Commodore 64 emulator for Windows. Superb compatability only beaten by CCS64. One advantage vice has, its proper Windows-Windowed support (try it and you will see what I mean). Very impressive, I wont be posting the whatsnew here, as its huge. The best C64 emulator around, pitty the Windowed mode wasnt a bit more Native (with titlebar). But as far as compatability and features, it got the lot. - Added 256 color version of the PAL TV filter emulation by John 'Graham' Selck and Philip 'Pepto' Timmermann. - Screenshots can be taken also of the PAL/RGB screen. - The C2N emulation now allows to select a new tape after playing the first tape to the end. - The noise problem with the MCI Sound Output device is now solved. - Fixed bug in Machine Code Monitor with the Transfer (T) command. - Fixed bug in keyboard handling with simultaneous keys pressed at the same time not recognized correctly. - CCS64 doesn't read track 1 of the 1541 disk after a reset anymore.
Ages, the Sega Megadrive/32X/CD emulator for Windows. I haven't had much luck using these emulators to be honest. Maybe I should fish out a few CD ISO's from the net and have another look. - Added save states for Genesis - Overhauled the M68000 core for much improved speed - Fixed a few M68000 bugs - Fixed some Z80 bugs and added support for many of the undocumented instructions - Some changes to the YM2612 envelope code for improved speed - Fixed some YM2612 bugs - Fixed some sound engine bugs (lots less static-y now) - Added Genesis 2x interlace mode (and "squash interlace" option) - Fixed Genesis window plane emulation - Fixed many other various Genesis and Sega CD bugs - Added 5 new frame/stretch behavior options - Added the weird Japanese BIOS fix used by Gens and Xega and a menu option to enable or disable it - Implemented the 6-button controller timeout - Eliminated most the thread deadlocks that were causing AGES to freeze up - Saving PNGs while emulating a Sega CD with CD-ROM drive doesn't crash AGES anymore |
